Welcome to the 2013 collection season!

Note about who should be on the collectors call: This
call is primarily intended for SOS collection team leaders and members. It is a practitioner’s call designed for the
National Coordinating Office to provide process and procedural reminders to the
field. It is also an opportunity for the
field to discuss weather, climatic conditions, ask questions and obtain
clarification regarding seed maturation, collection techniques or anything
else.

All new collectors should become familiar with the SOS
Protocol. This includes interns and any
contractors that are hired out of a BLM office.

more than 50 seed lots had a total seed number of less than 2000 seed.
Emphasized need to over-estimate population sizes.

Bend Update - 1442 collections went into the Bend Seed
Extractory, these collections are 65% processed and 41% packaged and ready to
ship to WRPIS. By the end of March it is
expected that all seed from MT, CO, WY and NM will be cleaned. NV, AZ and UT should be complete in late May
or early June.
