<b>ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: </b>Denver Botanic Gardens plays a key role in plant conservation within Colorado. Thirty years of demographic study have allowed us to contribute to federal and local species assessments and helped inform land management decisions.
Our seed collection efforts in partnership with the Center for Plant Conservation have resulted in the safeguarding of many of our state’s rarest plants. Our natural history collections document the diversity and changing landscape of plants and fungi in the
region. Our work impacts not only local conservation efforts but feeds up to the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation. By collecting robust, standardized data that we make freely available, we contribute to conservation
plans at varying scales furthering our global knowledge of biodiversity status and needs.</div>

<b>ABOUT OUR PRESENTER</b>: Jennifer serves as the Director of Research & Conservation at Denver Botanic Gardens where she leads the team of scientists working to investigate and explain biodiversity patterns and processes. Working collaboratively, the team
uses a multi-disciplinary approach to conserving biodiversity. Serving as the public face of the department, she participates in regional, national and international collaborative projects focused on biodiversity conservation. She serves as Vice President
of the Board of Directors for Botanic Gardens Conservation International – US. For the American Public Gardens Association, she serves as the Chair of the Plant Conservation community as well as on the Program Selection Committee. Her research has focused
on using molecular methods to address questions of conservation concern related to rare plants in Colorado. Jennifer is passionate about biodiversity conservation and working within a cultural institution to communicate science to the public.</div>
