The next meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES CoP20) will take place from November 24 to December 5, 2025. On December 26, 2024, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) published its second Federal Register notice outlining U.S. preparations for CoP20. The Notice covers taxa being considered for amendments to the CITES Appendices, as well as proposed resolutions, decisions, and agenda items. An extended table<https://www.fws.gov/cites/cop20/final-extended-federal-register-animals-plants-table-12.26.24.pdf> of taxa is posted on the USFWS website, providing a comprehensive list of the species being considered and explaining the rationale for the United States' current positions.
