[RWG] PCA Meeting: 8 March 2017

*The next Plant Conservation Alliance meeting will be March 8th, 2017 from
2:00 - 4:00 pm ET.*

Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jennifer Cruse-Sanders, Director of the State
Botanical Garden of Georgia. She will talk with us about plant conservation
work and partnerships in the Southeastern US - *More than just a pretty
place: How botanic gardens and their partners are conserving rare plants
across the Southeastern U.S.*

Please share this meeting announcement with anyone that may be interested
in seeing the presentation. As always, the PCA bi-monthly meetings are free
and available remotely as a live webinar.

For those in the Washington, DC area, the meetings are held at the
Department of the Interior, 1849 C Street NW. If you would like to attend
this meeting in person, please RSVP to lriibe at blm.gov by March 6, 2017 so
your name can be added to the list for security.

*More about Jennifer Cruse-Sanders*
Dr. Jennifer Cruse-Sanders is the Director of the State Botanical Garden of
Georgia at the University of Georgia, home to diverse plant collections,
impactful education programs, the Mimsie Lanier Center for Native Plant
Studies, and a founding member of the award winning Georgia Plant
Conservation Alliance. Until 2017 she served as the Vice President for
Science and Conservation at the Atlanta Botanical Garden where she launched
the Center for Southeastern Conservation and helped to host the inaugural
Southeastern Partners in Plant Conservation meeting with the US Fish and
Wildlife Service, USDA Forest Service, National Wildlife Refuge
Association, Georgia Plant Conservation Alliance and Georgia Department of
Natural Resources. A recipient of the 2016 Marsh Award for International
Plant Conservation from Botanic Garden Conservation International, the 2016
Carl N. Becker Stewardship Award from the Natural Areas Association and the
2015 USDA Forest Service Wings Across the Americas International Award for
Urban Communities in Conservation, Cruse-Sanders has published numerous
conservation articles with collaborators and students at botanical gardens
and universities.
