To add to Mr. Dremann's comment re the comments supra, it would additionally
be virtually necessary, from a cost basis, to "cause" BASF to release
Plateau herbicide for general use.

Plateau is a cheatgrass specific (with few exceptions) herbicide that was
highly successful in restorations of short grass prairies. Plateau is
approved by the NRCS for rangeland use.

BASF has restricted Plateau to roadside use only by government agencies.
>From what I have been informed from very reliable sources is that the
restriction by BASF is a result of peanut farmers in the South using Plateau
in place of the more costly BASF product Rodeo and Journey, non-specific
herbicides.

Do not be too quick to assume your enemy is a savage just because he is your
enemy. Perhaps he is your enemy because he thinks you are a savage. Or
perhaps he is afraid of you because he feels that you are afraid of him. And
perhaps if he believed you are capable of loving him he would no longer be
your enemy.

Cheatgrass replacement-plantings with local native plants could be
beautiful, cheatgrass-free and fire resistant areas--if Congress could
start making the annual investments for large-scale ecological
restoration of our public lands. Pics at
