Ross,

My crew and I have removed a great deal of Chinese privet over the past few years. I have not seen it sprout from stray pieces of stem but it will definitely resprout from the roots. We have had tremendous success in preventing resprouting by applying Remedy RTU (triclopyr in a vegetable oil formulation) to the cut stumps after hand removal.

Subject: [RWG] Hand Removing Chinese Privet

To the PCA Restoration Work group:

Does any one have advice on hand removing Chinese privet? Will it sprout
from stray pieces of stem left on the ground like Himalayan blackberry
does? Will unremoved roots resprout?

Thanks for the help.
