the Interior West. This position is a GS-0401-15 Biological Scientist located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and serves as the Science Program Manager of the Grassland, Shrubland and Desert Ecosystems Science Program (GSD).
</span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The position addresses dryland ecosystems (e.g., arid and semi-arid Southwestern lands, Great Basin shrublands and woodlands, Great Plains national grasslands, and riparian and wetlands)
of the Interior West. <span style="color:black">It is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico and serves as the Program Manager for a multi-disciplinary research unit. The program is located in six states (Idaho,
</span>Utah, <span style="color:black">Nevada, Montana, New Mexico, South Dakota) and collaborates closely with universities, other Forest Service branches, as well as BLM, USFWS, NPS, USGS, BIA, ARS, and NRCS, many state agencies, tribes and non-profits. The
labs for this program are on university campuses (Montana State University, University of Idaho, University of Nevada Reno, Brigham Young University) or co-located with National Forest System offices. The position reports to the Station Director in Fort Collins,
Colorado and is a member of the RMRS Leadership Team. </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="xmsonormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">This is a wonderful position because we have an awe-inspiring group of scientists and employees who conduct or support innovative research combining diverse fields (plant
ecology, physiology, and genetics, fire ecology, entomology, invasive species science, climate change research, disturbance and restoration research, geospatial research, and range sciences) to advance basic and applied sciences while supporting the needs
of land and natural resource managers. The unit includes 15 Research Grade Evaluation scientists as well as
<span style="color:black">staff (a budget/program specialist, additional admin support, professionals, technicians, postdocs, terms, temps, seasonals, and volunteers</span>)<span style="color:black">. Our Leadership Team is top-notch also and includes leadership
in fire sciences, water, wildlife, forestry, human dimensions, inventory and monitoring, and wilderness and provides support in budget, grants and agreements, publishing, public affairs, science delivery, and social media. </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
