<p class="MsoNormal">The National Museum of Natural History is seeking an experienced Manager to oversee its Insect Zoo and Butterfly Pavilion. This position is located in the Branch of Learning Venues and Visitor Experience, within the Office of Education
& Outreach (E&O) at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), Smithsonian Institution. This branch is responsible for policy development, management and oversight of a variety of services and programs that enhance the visitor experience at the Museum,
including the coordination and the development of the Museum’s earned revenue-producing activities.

<p class="MsoNormal">The Insect Zoo and Butterfly Pavilion Manager will lead a 365-day-a-year operation of a complex exhibition featuring a living collection of aquatic and terrestrial arthropods and plants from around the world as well as a paid, immersive,
walk-through butterfly environment. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Manager oversees animal acquisition, care and rearing, budgeting, and supervision of 6 staff and 140 volunteers ensuring the adequate and appropriate maintenance and staffing of the facilities.

<p class="MsoNormal">They will contribute to the development of an enhanced visitor experience, educational programs, public programs, public events, and new exhibition components and programs.

opportunities in the Insect Zoo and Butterfly Pavilion with those across the museum, including the Education Center and digital outreach, and to ensure proper maintenance and scientific accuracy of exhibition components and programs.
