Five small grants will be awarded to conduct training based on any

EE Guidelines Small Grant Opportunity<br>

What? Small Grant to Sponsor a EE Guidelines Workshop<br>
<br>
The National Project for Excellence in Environmental Education, initiated<br>
by NAAEE in 1993, has created a series of publications that provide<br>
guidance for the development of high-quality environmental education.
Each<br>
of these publications was developed by a diverse team of professionals,<br>
and each has gone through a substantive review by thousands of<br>
professionals prior to its publication (eelinked.net/n/guidelines).<br>
<br>
Five small grants will be awarded (pending final funding approval from<br>
EPA) in cooperation with EECapacity and the University of Oregon. The<br>
grants are meant to help defray the costs of conducting guidelines<br>
training with a focus on how they can be used in an urban context.<br>
Trainings can focus on any of the Guidelines publications (i.e., the<br>
entire set, a specific publication, or some combination of publications).<br>
Workshops can be designed as general professional development, as a means<br>
of building partnerships or for a specific audience (e.g., Head Start,<br>
Minority Academic Institution faculty members).<br>

How Much? Up to $1000<br>
<br>
The cash award (up to $1000) is meant to defray costs of organizing and<br>
holding the workshop (e.g., staff time, advertising, facility rental,<br>
supplies, coffee breaks, lunch).<br>

In addition to the cash award, the project will provide:<br>
§ free copies of the Guidelines publication(s)
for all participants<br>
§ pay the travel costs for a Guidelines for
Excellence trainer to<br>
facilitate the workshop (if needed).<br>
<br>
Who will facilitate the training?<br>
The project will help you recruit a member of the Guidelines Trainer's<br>
Bureau to facilitate the workshop (no cost to you). The National Project<br>
for Excellence in EE has established the Guidelines Trainer's Bureau as
a<br>
way of offering expanded opportunities to learn about the Guidelines.<br>
Guidelines Trainer's Bureau members have received specialized training
and<br>
are available to give presentations to a variety of audiences on the<br>
Guidelines and how these publications can be used to enhance the quality<br>
