Maintains databases of equipment, supplies, samples (DNA, wood anatomy slides, etc.), and protocols.</li><li class="even" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">Obtains price quotations and orders supplies and equipment as needed.</li>

<li class="odd" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">Maintains equipment, including routine maintenance.</li><li class="even" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">Initiates work orders for in-house (and as required external) service and maintenance of equipment.</li>

Experience with molecular laboratory techniques, such as DNA extraction, PCR amplification, DNA sequencing, and microsatellite analysis.</li><li class="even" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">

Experience with plant tissue fixation, storage, and processing; rotary and sliding microtomy; slide- staining protocols and cover slipping of prepared specimens.</li><li class="odd" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">

Experience with microscopy and photomicrography.</li><li class="even" style="margin:0px!important;padding:5px;list-style-type:square">Experience with operation of scanning electron microscope [SEM], including sputter coater and critical-point dryer.</li>
