</span></b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif"">This IDOT funded, long-term program focuses on<b>
</b>wetland delineations and mitigation throughout the state of Illinois. These positions will be located in Champaign, Illinois.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif"">Job description:</span></b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif""> Primary position function is to complete routine, on-site wetland determinations,
emphasizing identification of vegetation and interpretation of hydrology. Participate in long-term wetland mitigation projects in coordination with the Illinois State Geological Survey, with duties including location and evaluation of potential mitigation
sites, assistance with site design, selection of appropriate species for re-vegetation, and design and implementation of monitoring programs. Locate and identify high quality natural areas. Identify threatened and endangered plants/animals and their habitats
in IDOT project areas. Prepare technical reports describing results for IDOT. Respond to requests for scientific/technical information, requests for speaking engagements, and service on internal committees. Independent research and presentation/publication
of results, particularly concerning wetlands, is encouraged. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif"">Qualifications:</span></b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif""> Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline; Master’s
degree is preferred. Strong skills/experience in field identification of mid-western vascular flora with emphasis on wetland species required; ability to interpret wetland hydrology is desired. Must have scientific knowledge and skills necessary to collect
and analyze field data for the completion of wetland studies; and strong verbal and written communication skills to translate surveys and research findings into appropriate management recommendations, reports and presentations to co-workers, supervisory staff,
and scientific and lay communities. Knowledge of threatened and endangered plant species including their identification and habitat requirements is preferred. Familiarity with current federal wetland determination methods and current wetland restoration techniques
desired. Competency with GIS and/or databases is a plus. Must be willing to travel overnight throughout Illinois and work under adverse weather conditions.
<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:10.0pt"><b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif"">Salary:</span></b><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif""> $35,000 - $50,000 per year commensurate with experience and education.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Arial Narrow","sans-serif"">These are regular, academic professional, full-time grant supported 12-month positions. The estimated starting date is April
