He said it is based on California's<BR>> bryophyte flora, but will be applicable to most of the western states<BR>> (though it won't have all your bryophytes). He said it uses the leaf shape<BR>> (and central vein?) as essentially a "picture key" to identify the species,<BR>> and leads you to excellent close-up photographs of the species. About 250<BR>> pages! He said he'd send out an email message when it is available, so<BR>> stay tuned.<BR>><BR>> I also just got the following flyer from Roger Rosentreter. Looks like he<BR>> and Bruce McCune have a new book out on soil crust "crustose" lichens, and<BR>> that they plan to publish additional books by lichenologists on a sporadic<BR>> basis.</DIV>
