The Islands are home to plants and animals found nowhere else in the world. They are also the site of globally significant conservation success stories. At the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden's 10th annual conservation symposium on February 25th, hear from 10 conservation experts who have stepped in across the archipelago to do the near-impossible work of removing the nonnative, invasive species that threaten these unique ecosystems. Learn about the diverse habitat that has regrown, the rare birds that have recolonized, and the recovery of endangered plants and foxes. And find out how you can help continue this work until the longevity and resilience of the islands' ecosystems are secured. This year's symposium honors Peter Schuyler, Kate Faulkner, and Grupo de Ecología y Conservación de Islas - three conservation heroes who have jumpstarted the recovery of the Islands.
