JOB OPPORTUNITY: Santa Barbara Botanic Garden is hiring a Rare Plant Technician I for the upcoming field season. The job will focus on field work in the spring and summer and assist with seed cleaning and curation in the fall and winter. The primary project focus will be Seeds of Success in the Bakersfield Field Office, but this person will also have the opportunity to participate in rare plant conservation projects ranging from the central coast to the Eastern Sierra Nevada. The position is full-time with opportunity for overtime. The term is 12 months with opportunity to renew based on funding and performance. Applicants must be able to hike in rugged conditions, camp with primitive accommodations, and be in the field for overnight trips.
