*Overview: Permanent appointment

*Duties:
Manages the Regional Climate Change Action Team while serving as the regional coordinator for climate change science for the Southwest Region, advising and assisting regional Service programs to develop strategies for integrating climate change into operation policies and management, and as principal liaison between the Southwest Region and other national conservation agencies and organizations, industry and the public.
Acts as principal advisor to the Assistant Regional Director of Science Applications concerning state-of-art climate change science, research, policies, adaptation methodologies and mitigation strategies.
Represents the Southwest Region with respect to climate change science and policy with state and other federal agencies to ensure fish, wildlife, and their habitats are considered and included in federal plans and programs that address climate change.
Represents the Southwest Region with respect to climate change science and policy within the larger conservation community, including, but not limited to Cooperative Ecosystems Studies Units, USGS Climate Adaptation Science Centers, universities, state fish and wildlife agencies, research boards, professional scientific societies, and other scientific and conservation organizations.
Facilitates the coordination of activities across Service programs to ensure relevance and excellence in the integration of climate change science into regional and programmatic plans and operational programs.
