*Overview: As an Assistant Horticulturist, you will be responsible for aiding in the planning, developing, implementing, directing, coordinating, reviewing, evaluating, validating, tracking and improvement of the landscape management program for the National Capital Region at GSA.

*Duties:
>Assist in the oversight, coordination, and development of technical and management procedures to assure the attractiveness, functionality, and long-term sustainability outdoor ornamental including annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, ground covers, ornamental grasses, and turf.
>Propose technically and esthetically appropriate design concepts and assists in horticultural and administrative planning necessary for project implementation.
>Assist in carrying out tasks relating to the installation and maintenance of landscapes, including plant materials, hardscape, green roof installation and maintenance, and infrastructural support (e.g. irrigation systems).
>Perform routine administrative functions related to a landscape program.
>Prepare and analyze work and cost measurement reports, including cost estimates, to determine measurement standards for various landscape program activities. Make recommendations regarding technical and procedural methods to increase productivity, quality of operations, efficiency of contract administration, and maintain client satisfaction.
>Assist in developing procurement documents such as contract specifications relating to landscape installation and maintenance. Contribute to the solicitation process, including serving as a source of horticultural expertise in pre-solicitation briefings and as a member of source selection evaluation boards.

*Eligibility: Your application will be considered if you are a: Current career/career-conditional Federal employee in the competitive service; Reinstatement eligible; Special Appointing Authority eligible; VEOA eligible Veteran; ICTAP eligible; or OPM Interchange Agreement eligible.

*Pay Scale: GS-12
