Position: Biological Technician (Plants/Horticulture)

Responsibilities:
The Biological Technician (Plants/Horticulture) serves as a key team member working to accomplish the annual work plan of the Olmsted Center for Landscape Preservation. Supervised by experienced full-time staff, the incumbent will work with staff members on the delivery of technical support and training to National Park Service Parks of Region One. Major duties include conducting field surveys, landscape condition assessments, training program support, and research in support of Historic Plant Preservation Program.

  *   Support education and training programs through administration, research, and participation.
  *   Research and catalogue historic plant vegetation in Region One in support of the Historic Plant Preservation program.
  *   Conduct field visits for landscape condition assessments and plant inventories.
  *   Research, write, and support landscape technical support and guidance to parks.

The typical seasonal entry-on-duty period for Northeast Regional Office is June/July to November/December, but can be variable during these months due to weather conditions, project needs, or funding. Anticipated Entry on Duty: June/July.
