Dear Desi,

Another great resource for native North American Cirsum is Xerces' "Native
Thistles: A Conservation Practitioner's Guide
*Plant Ecology, Seed Production Methods, and Habitat Restoration
Opportunities*"
https://xerces.org/publications/guidelines/native-thistles-conservation-practitioners-guide

In addition to the RNGR propagation database and to keep it simple - winter
stratification and spring sowing, one other resource if you do encounter
challenges with seed quality under storage or germination conditions is
Kew's Seed Information database
https://data.kew.org/sid/SidServlet?ID=41766&Num=rcU and the Florida Native
Plant Society's page https://www.fnps.org/plant/cirsium-horridulum
(These are not specific to var. horridulum, but could be helpful)

Best wishes growing it!

-Steph
