Program Description: Sarah Geurtz will present on how to transition your yard from a lawn to wildlife habitat using native plants.
Speaker Bio: Sarah Geurtz is a Landscape Architect at Earthplan Design Alternatives in Springdale where she recommends native species to the clients and municipalities she provides consulting services to. Sarah enjoys being able to use her background in horticulture to select native plant species that adapt well to the local climate and are suited to the site conditions in the projects she designs. Sarah also serves on the Education Committee for the Arkansas Native Plant Society, an organization that promotes the preservation, conservation, study, and enjoyment of the native plants of Arkansas; the education of the public regarding the value of native plants and their habitats; and the publication of related information.
