[PCA] Paid Internship Opportunities: REU and HERS seeking Native American Undergraduates

*Deadline:
REU SLWR (Research Experience for Undergraduates on Sustainable Land and Water Resources): Tribally-focused Community-based Team Science.  Deadline: February 15, 2021
HERS (Haskell Environmental Research Studies): Climate & Environmental Change in Indigenous Communities. Deadline: March 5, 2021

*Overview:
REU: $600/week stipend, temporary, summer internship (10-weeks)
HERS: $4000 stipend, temporary, summer internship (8-weeks). This internship is tailored to students looking to enroll in a graduate program.

*Position: Summer Intern

*Who may apply:
REU:  Undergraduate students majoring in civil engineering, geosciences, ecology, mathematics, or related fields. They encourage applications from students of all genders who are Native American, tribal college students, community college students, non-traditional students, veterans, students who have been historically under-represented in their discipline and students who are first-generation college students.
HERS: American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islanders students who are U.S. citizens and enrolled in courses for the coming fall semester or have recently graduated.

*Compensation:
REU: Transportation, housing, and food or full kitchens depending on location, plus a $600/week stipend to all participants.
HERS:  $4,000 stipend, housing accommodations & meals, paid travel to and from internship, and to national research centers, academic support from Haskell and KU professors & graduate student mentors, use of a laptop computer and software, study materials & financial support for graduate school entrance exams
