The Durrell Conservation Academy and Global Wildlife Conservation, with the IUCN Species Survival Commission, are developing a global register of competencies for threatened species recovery practitioners and are seeking input on their first draft by December 16.

Known as the Threatened Species Recovery Competence Register, the stated purpose is to detail the possible skills, knowledge, and interpersonal qualities required by people working on threatened species recovery programs around the world, both in-situ and ex-situ. This project aims to increase recognition that species conservation is a complex, multi-skilledprofession, worthy of respect and support.

All reviewers will be acknowledged as collaborators on any subsequent publications, and there is a short form to fill out with your name and expertise.
