*Deadline: March 30, 2020



*Overview: Coordinate and implement data analysis and mapping for the Seeds of Success National Collection and the BLM Plant Conservation and Restoration Program.



*Position: Responsibilities:

1. Work with SOS National Curator to assist with data management related to the National Collection. Verify and georeference the information that is currently in the SOS database (i.e. ensuring that the coordinates, state, county, ecoregion, land owner and locational details concur).

2. Provide analyses on the National Collection, using GIS, in order to strategically add taxa and populations for collection.

3. Provide quality control on data submission from field collectors. Create and maintain GIS Story maps on SOS accomplishments to include on SOS website.

4. Teach classes and provide lectures in support of native seed banking.



Key Cooperative Relationships: Botanic Garden and BLM staff; SOS cooperators; CLM interns and technicians for SOS; federal, state and regional land managers; conservation, stewardship and restoration groups.



*Location: Position is located at the Bureau of Land Management Headquarters Office in Boise, Idaho.



*Who may apply: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in ecology, botany, biology or equivalent with appropriate experience; Master’s degree or GIS certification preferred. Knowledge of plants, especially seed collection methods. GIS experience. Data management, teaching and project management experience, good organizational skills. Ability to work independently. Desire to work with volunteers and interns. Occasional outdoor and weekend work may be involved, valid driver’s license required.



*Compensation: Commensurate with experience.
