What will you learn?

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service has been using forest type and vegetation mapping from aerial imagery to create vegetation maps on refuge lands for 15 years. We now have forest type and vegetation maps on over 400,000 acres of refuge land in the North Atlantic Appalachian Region. Many Refuges have found these maps to be the most accurate vegetation maps available to them for wildlife habitat planning and management. While this webinar is most relevant to refuge biologists in the North Atlantic Appalachian Region with access to these data and tools, it may be of interest to others interested in the process or considering options for vegetation mapping.

Presentation Objectives:
1) Discuss how photogrammetric mapping products were created.
2) Show how they can be accessed and used on AGOL and ArcGIS.
3) Show examples of how to use the data for habitat planning and management.
