A broad consortium of organizations interested in North American native crop wild relatives and other wild utilized plants has developed and published a road map for collaborative action, with 5 main shared aims: (i) to understand and document North America's crop wild relatives and wild utilized plants, (ii) to protect threatened species in their natural habitats, (iii) to collect and conserve ex situ the diversity of prioritized species, (iv) to make this diversity accessible and attractive for plant breeding, research, and education, and (v) to raise public awareness of their value and the threats to their persistence.

To reach a wider group of folks potentially interested in these collaborations, the road map and associated information have been published in various formats, including for agricultural researchers (https://doi.org/10.2135/cropsci2019.05.0309), botanic gardens (https://indd.adobe.com/view/b51a2f77-7438-4cce-9c7a-21da325ef663), and land managers (https://doi.org/10.3375/043.040.0111). Contact info for facilitators of the work are in the publications. Please reach out if you are interested or have questions!

Thanks!
Colin
