What will you learn?
Federal, state, and local agencies need answers to key questions about landslides for planning and emergency response: When and where will they occur? How big will they be? How fast and how far will they travel? The USGS Landslide Hazards Program answers these questions by conducting applied research on landslide processes and providing hazard maps and forecasts of landslide activity. This talk will take a tour of several major landslide events across the country and describe the research and response activities that are helping to mitigate landslide impacts.

Jason Kean, Research Hydrologist, USGS Landslide Hazards Program, Golden, Colorado
