Master’s Candidate in Plant Conservation

The Department of Biology of Miami University, Ohio, in collaboration with
the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Panama City, Fl, is seeking a Masters
level student to conduct a genetic study of the Florida skullcap, a
threatened plant species endemic to the Florida panhandle.  This
conservation study is needed to help evaluate the abundance, reproductive
modes, and status of this species in addition to developing plans to
improve population trends and trajectories.

Candidates may participate in Miami University’s Graduate Certificate
program in Conservation Biology. This program is intended to prepare
students for careers in conservation biology with federal, state, and local
agencies and non-profit organizations. Students will simultaneously earn
a Master’s degree in Miami University’s Biology or Botany graduate
programs by taking the appropriate coursework.

Candidates will be supported by a graduate assistantship awarded by the
Miami University Graduate School. If interested, please apply to either
