The Plant Conservation Alliance would like to thank Gary Krupnick for his
fascinating presentation "The Immense Value of Scientific Collections in
Conservation Research". Information on the Smithsonian National Museum of

A few updates and announcements from the May 9th meeting:



·         At the 2017 National Native Seed Conference several task forces
were formed. The Task Force focused on Training Tools for Practitioners,
Producers, and Stakeholders on the Use of Native Seed has compiled a list
of tools which will soon be published online, more information will follow
soon.

·         North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC) has
published this year’s pollinator poster – and it’s all about seeds & the
food we eat! You can order copies on the Pollinator Partnership website
here http://pollinator.org/shop/posters

·         The USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture supports
research,
education, and extension activities through three primary funding
mechanisms: competitive grants, capacity grants, and non-competitive
grants. This year’s Request for Information is behind schedule and more
information will be sent over the PCA listserv as it is available, for more
information on NIFA funding please visit nifa.usda.gov/apply-grant

·         If you are interested in presenting at a PCA meeting, or would
like to suggest future speakers, please send contact information to Leah
Prescott (lprescott at blm.gov) as we are continuously planning future
meetings.



Upcoming Events:



·         The Smithsonian Botanical Symposium, presented by the
Smithsonian's National Museum of Natural History Department of Botany in
collaboration with the United States Botanic Garden, will be held on
Friday, May 18, 2018. The Symposium will focus on fossil lineages of plants
and feature an evening reception at the US Botanic Garden. More information

·         The Pollinator Partnership is proud to announce that June 18-24,
2018 has been designated National Pollinator Week. There will be several
events during Pollinator Week held across the country, find an event near
you here pollinator.org/pollinator-week More information about various
events will be distributed on the PCA listserv.

·         We encourage PCA cooperators to post meetings, webinars, and
research on the PCA listserv as we continue our collaborative mission to
protect native plants by ensuring that native plant populations and their
communities are maintained, enhanced, and restored. Listserv information
