*This webinar is being offered by the National Conservation Training Center
of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and it's open to all who register:*

*Event:* Advanced Topics in Conservation Genetics 9.16.2015

*Description: How much is enough? Using genetic data to assess the
necessary sampling intensity to maximize diversity in ex situ seed
collections.**When:* Wednesday 16 September 2015, 02:00 PM - 03:00 PM
*Time Zone:* (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US and Canada) (Please note that
Daylight Saving Time (+01:00 hr) is in effect during this time)

"...Genetic data provides a relatively unbiased tool that can be used to
assess if conservation goals are being achieved...Ex situ seed collections
seek to establish plant resources that can be used in restoration and
reintroduction efforts, and that hedge against stochastic population
losses. The value of ex situ seed collections will be impacted by how much
of the available wild diversity is captured."
