The Environmental, Surveillance, Education, and Research Program at the
Idaho National Laboratory (INL) Site has positions available for three
students to work as paid technicians collecting and managing data on
ecological research projects funded by the Department of Energy (DOE). The
focus of the 2014 summer field season will be on data collection to support
sage grouse habitat monitoring. Data from this project are used to assess
habitat condition, monitor changes in habitat quality, and measure the
effects of vegetation change on habitat availability.

(late May to mid-August) and the anticipated start date is May 27. Pay will
range from $11.00 to $14.00/hour, depending on experience. Technicians will
report at the beginning and end of each day to our Idaho Falls office, and
daily field work will be conducted at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL)
Site, located 45 miles west of Idaho Falls. Qualifications: Applicants
should currently be college students or recent graduates. Preference will
be given to students in ecology, biology, wildlife, environmental science,
rangeland science, or related natural resources major. Field crews often
