Good overall story with a bad/misleading title (written no doubt not
by the author which is always a mistake, i.e. when editors feel like
they know better).

The statement "It was one of the first plant species removed from the
list" is also misleading and/or in error.

> The Robbins? cinquefoil, a species of plant native to Mount Washington,
> doesn't get much attention.
>
> It isn't featured on postcards along with the snow-capped peak and the
> scenic treeline. It doesn't rest alongside the historic auto road or the
> picturesque Cog Railway.
>
> Yet the plant, which makes its home on a sliver of land at 6,000 feet, has
> one distinction that sets it apart from most others: It?s one of the few
> plants to be taken off the list of endangered species due to successful
> recovery efforts.
>
> Sharing a positive story to celebrate the new year; kudos to PCA members --
> the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Center for Plant Conservation, and the
> New England Wild Flower Society -- for their hard work on this plant. See
