The Northeast Exotic Plant Management Team of the National Park Service,
stationed at the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area in eastern
Pennsylvania, is looking for two good crew members for its summer season of
weed bashing, starting in early May. This is the announcement for one of
those positions. It is a seasonal biological science technician position at
the GS-04 grade. The length of service is early May to early October (5
months).

If you would like to check out the job description to see if you are a good
match and otherwise interested, it is found at the USAJobs website at this
URL:
https://www.usajobs.gov/GetJob/ViewDetails/358275900

If this link doesn't work for you, go to www.usajobs.gov and type
"Bushkill, PA" in the Search box labeled Location at the top of the
webpage. This generally leads you to either nothing (very few federal jobs
are found in Bushkill, PA, relatively speaking), or in this case, to this
position announcement. It will be there up to the deadline of Friday,
February 21, 2014.

NOTE THE DEADLINE FOR APPLYING: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST !!
This announcement has a short turnaround time, so if you are interested,
please don't put off applying for this once-in-a-year opportunity!

Sometime during the week of February 17th, your search on "Bushkill, PA"
will pull up our second crew member position. This one is also a seasonal
biological science technician position. Its responsibilities combine the
duties of a crew member and the data manager for the Team and is rated as a
GS-05. the length of service is 6 months, from early May through early
November. It requires experience in GIS (specifically ArcGIS) along with
other software. This position will also have a short application time. If
you have the requisite background, apply for it, too, while you're in the
job application groove.

Both announcements have full descriptions of the positions, requirements,
responsibilities, pay, hours, location and so on, along with all the
instructions and links you need for submitting your application. If you
have any questions, it will also give you the contact information for the
people to call or email.

Enjoy the application ride--it is far smoother than it was when I had to
apply, believe me.
