US Fish & Wildlife Service
- *Forensic Specialist (Morphology)*
- term position, GS-1801-12
Closes: January 28th

The National Fish and Wildlife Forensics Laboratory, Ashland, Oregon, is
the only lab in the world dedicated to crimes against wildlife, and is very
much like a typical police lab, except the victim is an animal [or plant!].
The lab examines, identifies, and compares evidence using a wide array of
scientific procedures and instruments in an attempt to link suspect, victim
and crime scene with physical evidence.

As a Forensic Specialist, you will identify and analyze wood specimens to
determine their significance as evidence in wildlife crime investigations.
This includes specimens from wood products (including small, damaged or
degraded specimens) and other contexts in which wood can appear, including
trace evidence.
