Dear All!

Last week a native plant and pollination advocate spoke to Cobourg
(Ontario) Council on behalf of boulevard gardens there that are being cut
under a bylaw enacted in April limiting the height of vegetation to 8
inches...thus far enforced only against native plant gardens. Like many
smaller centers, they seem to have thoughtlessly used Toronto's
preposterous 8 inch height limitation as the basis for their bylaw against
all vegetation.

There will be further delegations appearing at the September 16th meeting.
Cobourg elected only to receive the presentations rather than undertake a
review of their unconstitutional bylaw.

Peter
