For the past 12 years, Kennedy has been the president and executive
director of the St. Louis-based Center for Plant Conservation, the
lead organization in a network of 38 botanical institutions throughout
the U.S., whose sole mission is to prevent "the extinction of
America's imperiled, native flora."
