A colleague 'heard-tell' of a scenario out West pertaining to management
activities intended to reduce the impact/intensity/frequency of wildfires
(esp. in the face of changing climates) and increase safety for
surrounding human populations, whereby understory clearing has been done
so thoroughly that it has resulted in negative impacts on wildlife that
may supercede the impacts of wildfires and climate change.

Are any listserve members aware of published or peer-reviewed documents
regarding this issue?

Thanks,
Patricia
