Task: Botany/Ecology- Field data collection.
Estimated Start Date: May-June
Duration: May - November; summer seasonal ok. (May-August)
Compensation: $22-$30 hour, with possible increases due to experience and 
performance.

Company: Integrated Resource Inventories, Inc. (IRI) is a stand-alone 
company that specializes in data collection and data management throughout 
the west. We have inventoried over 25 National Forests in regions 1, 4 and 
5 using Forest Inventory and Analysis protocols applicable to each region.

Position Overview: Performs various types of vegetation data collection in 
predetermined locations on Southern Idaho, Utah, Nevada National Forests 
and Northern California. Also work on similar projects as needed. Able to 
work independently and confidently determine vegetation types using 
habitat type vegetation keys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Key out all shrubs, forbs and graminoids to species and in some cases 
variation.
* Camp at remote locations which are near sample sites.
* Organize and input data on a daily basis.
*Ability to endure adverse conditions; (rain, wind, dust, thunder storms 
etc.)
* Able to work long hours.
* Efficiently navigate to sample sites using GPS.
* Be physically able to navigate variable terrain.
* Communicate with inspectors and project leaders.
* Navigate with aerial photography and identify polygon boundaries on 
provided maps.

Desired Qualifications:
* BS or higher in Botany, Ecology, Forestry, Environmental studies and/or 
specific classes related to plant identification. Also, will accept 
enrolled students that have had essential classes related to the work and 
are still working on their degree.
* Experience in field data collection is desired but will train.
* FIA certified a real plus and will compensate for such certification.
* Familiar with dichotomous keys
* Demonstrate complete understanding of data collection protocols in a 
predetermined time frame.
* Have a working vehicle for use on dirt roads. Mileage will be 
reimbursed.

Other Reimbursements or Compensation:
* Daily perdiums paid for camping: $35/Day
* Mileage reimbursement per mile on projects:  $.50/mile
* Performance Bonuses
