POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Environmental scientist Chris Bowser pulled a tiny 
shrimp-like creature from the muck in an eel trap as teenagers in chest 
waders surrounded him in the rushing Fall Kill, where they were collecting 
transparent baby eels.
