The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announces today the publication of its
first Federal Register notice for the 16th meeting of the Conference of
the Parties (CoP16) to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered
Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) scheduled to be held in March 2013
in Thailand.

See the full Notice at:
<www.fws.gov/international/DMA_DSA/CITES/pdf/CoP16_FR_June14_2011.pdf>

The Service is soliciting information and recommendations from the public
for animal and plant species the United States should consider submitting
for consideration at CoP16. We encourage the submission of information on
species that are subject to international trade that is, or may become,
detrimental to the survival of the species. Comments must be received
within 60 days, on or before August 15, 2011. In addition to seeking
recommendations from the public, this Notice also outlines the U.S.
approach for CoP16.

Please feel free to circulate to interested colleagues and members of the
public.

Thank you,
Patricia
