Tiny wildflowers threatened by oil and gas drilling, development and
off-road recreation may get 45,000 acres of protected area under proposed
critical habitat designation

SUMMIT COUNTY -- After 31 years on a waiting list, a rare plant that grows
only near DeBeque, Colorado finally will be protected under the Endangered
Species Act, along with another rare Roan Plateau species vulnerable to
impacts from oil and gas drilling, as well as off-road recreation.
