Officials battling Waco's water-taste issues using fish and aquatic plants 
at the lake

The city of Waco is attempting to manipulate the Lake Waco ecosystem to 
fight smelly blue-green algae. Its arsenal includes aquatic plants, 
aeration and its most delicious weapon: the hybrid white striped bass.

The city has partnered with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and 
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the .biomanipulation. project that 
started Tuesday with the planting of native plants on the shoreline.
