I have to admit I had not followed the ethanol issue too closely. But
recently, my mother recently mentioned to a local (in Penna.) gas station
attendant that sshe seemed to be getting lower MPG and he confirmed that
ethanol gas gives you poorer gas mileage. She's conducting a little
experiment to see if that plays out (the old fashioned - keeping track of
your miles and the amount of gas you put in) - I'm thinking it also makes
a difference how much you use your heating system, etc. But, pretty soon,
she should have her first full year's worth of data. Problem is, if this
is true, it's hard to find gas stations that sell gas without ethanol
these days.

Ethanol test for Obama on climate change, science
By H. Josef Hebert, Associated Press Writer -- 1 hr 58 mins ago

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama's commitment to take on climate
change and put science over politics is about to be tested as his
administration faces a politically sensitive question about the widespread
