Plant, extinct in wild, returns
Army program roots offspring of last wild specimen in Makua

Advertiser Staff Writer

A team of plant specialists working for the Army on a contract with the 
University of Hawai'i yesterday continued a decade-long effort to 
reintroduce a plant that had become extinct in its native habitat of 
Kahanahaiki in Makua Valley.
