FYI: It's a job announcement so I thought I'd send it. I figured some of
you plant people may know a little something about butterflies, too! :)

Subject
[Pollinator] looking for consultant to conduct Lepidopteran surveys in
S. Ontario in 2009

Apologies for any cross-posting. If you are interested in conducting some
Lepidoteran surveys this summer, or know of someone who could be, please
let Aviva Patel know (see her e-mail below).

Thanks!

At Credit Valley Conservation in southwestern Ontario we have initiated a
riparian monitoring program, with about 25 sites located across our
watershed. We monitor indicators of health at the landscape, community and
species level and are interested in the potential of lepidopterans as a
species level indicator.
We are interested in conducting some lepidopteran surveys this summer
(July-August 2009). We would be interested in the diversity and possibly
abundance of species at each site. The consulting contract would include
development of survey methodology to stay consistent among sites, a work
plan (timeline for completion of all sites), a brief report summarizing
the findings, and an Excel file, to CVC specifications, provided to
CVC with the data.
For more information, please contact Aviva Patel at the CVC administrative
office (905-670-1615 x244) or apatel at creditvalleyca.ca
