Washington DC:
Summer Employment Opportunities Working with Youth in Washington, DC
Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of DC youth, 
parks, and communities this summer? The Student Conservation Association 
is currently accepting applications for Crew Leader positions for the 
2008 DC Conservation Crew Program.

Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of six high school participants ages 15-18 yrs old 
for six weeks (Mon-Fri. 8hrs/day) completing an assortment of hands-on 
conservation projects in DC area parks and plan and lead weekly 
educational field trips and a 4 day camping trip.

Program and Training Dates:

a. June 23-August 1
Applicants must be able to attend one of the following training* sessions:

a. Session 1:  May 15th-23rd
b. Session 2: June 14th-22nd
Additional professional development courses including Wilderness First Aid are offered prior to training.  *travel, accommodations, and food provided at training

Salary:
$2900 for 6 weeks depending on qualifications and experience

Qualifications: Experience working with urban youth; ability to maintain a safe productive and enjoyable work environment; strong interest in working with and mentoring youth; outdoor skills; 21yrs or older; valid driver's license for 3+ years and clean driving record; current First Aid and CPR certifications or ability to obtain.

Baltimore Commuting Crew Leaders:
Summer Employment Opportunities Working with Youth in Baltimore City Parks
Are you interested in making a difference in the lives of Baltimore 
youth, parks, and communities this summer? The Student Conservation 
Association is currently accepting applications for Crew Leader positions 
for the 2008 Baltimore Conservation Leadership Corps Program.

Responsibilities:
Co-lead and mentor a crew of ten high school youth, ages 15-18 for seven weeks (Mon-Fri. 8hrs/day) from June 23-August 8, 2008.  Crew Leaders will train and lead youth to complete much needed conservation service projects in Baltimore city parks such as Druid Hill, Cylburn and others; Leaders will also plan and lead weekly field trips to build an understanding and ethic of community and environmental stewardship with youth participants.   Prior to field programming, Leaders will receive nationally recognized youth leadership, program and conservation skills training.

Program and Training Dates:

a. Program Dates: June 23-August 8
