USDA: No need to plant conservation land

Washington, D.C. - The Bush administration has decided against easing 
conservation rules to put more land into crop production.

Agriculture Secretary Ed Schafer said today that this year's corn and 
soybean crops aren't as bad as first feared. He also noted that the price 
of corn had dropped 25 percent in the past month.
