A Win-Win-Win
By Nancy Brian, Endangered Species Botanist, Biological Resource
Management Division, NPS

A win-win-win situation is the best of all possible outcomes. Everybody
wins! In this case, the first group of winners is Wrangell-St. Elias
National Park and Preserve, Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site and
three National Park Service units within the National Capital Region. This
group benefited from the much-needed park projects that interns with the
Chicago Botanic Garden completed this past summer. The second winners are
CBG interns David Goldsmith, Sascha Lodge and Cristin Walters. The full
measure of experience, skills, and education these three gained through
their internship with NPS launched them into careers in conservation
biology and resource management. And the third winners are the American
people, who will be able to enjoy 'healthier' parks.
