The University & Jepson Herbaria, University of California Berkeley seek a
Bioinformatics Specialist to join our dedicated team of professionals
curating and digitizing these world class collections and archives.

The incumbent will primarily be digitizing type specimens and associated
data and will disseminate this data through a central repository and also
from the University and Jepson Herbaria website. The position requires a
detailed knowledge of relational databases, South American geography,
botanical nomenclature and dissemination of accurate botanical information
on-line.

Desirable skills are fluency in Spanish and techniques/protocols of
geo-referencing biological specimens.
