mail in Word format.
* Scientific Committee Response for approval: 15 December 2007
* Registration: 12 March 2008.
* Due date to submit work in full: 15 January 2008

SYMPOSIUM INFORMATION

Topics

* Taxonomy and Ethnobotany
* Ecology and Conservation
* Chemistry and Biochemistry of Wild Species
* Agronomy and Management of Plants in Arid Zones
* Plant Biotechnology
* Landscape

Objectives

    1. Present advances in research on plant resources in arid zones.
    2. Favor communication among professors, researchers, producers, 
professional businessmen, students, and other persons interested in 
knowing problems and possible solutions on flora of arid zones.
    3. Promote and increase links with research, the economic sector, and 
the governmental sector.

Guidelines for the production of works in full to be included in the book 
of abstracts and proceedings.

* Maximum of 10 pages 170x245 mm (portrait orientation) in Word format.
* Left margin: 25 mm; right, top, and bottom: 15 mm.
* Font: Arial (10) normal. Please use Arial (9) normal in the description 
of tables, charts, and images.
* Titles should be in bold and all first letters of important words in 
uppercase.
* Name of author, followed by name of institution, address, and electronic 
mail in a separate paragraph, must be placed below the title of the 
article.
* The Abstract should be around 250 words, have short paragraphs with the 
main ideas of the work, and point out novel research elements.
* Key words should be included below the Abstract.
* The body should be divided in: Introduction, Materials and Methods, 
Results and Discussion, Bibliographical References These titles should be 
in bold.
* Pages cannot be numbered, and cannot include headers or footnotes.
* Graphs and figures shall be included within the work.

Guidelines for poster production:

* Measurements: 110cm long by 90cm wide.
* Font size for the title should be 2 cm in height (minimum), and for the 
rest of the work 1 cm in height (minimum).
* The poster shall include: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results 
and Discussion, Bibliographical References. These titles should be in 
bold.
* Authors. names, followed by name of institution, address, and electronic 
mail in a separate paragraph.

Guidelines for Abstracts:

* The Abstract shall be submitted with a maximum of 250 words, in Word, 
Arial 12 font, single-space. Below the title, authors. names, followed by 
name of institution, address, and electronic mail in a separate paragraph. 
Underline the name of the author presenting. One Abstract shall be 
submitted in Spanish and one in English already revised by an editor 
competent in the language.
* Indicate in which of the 6 topics of the symposium your work can be 
included.

Oral or poster presentation:

* Oral presentations shall be 15 min and 5 min for questions.

If you are interested in participating with an oral or poster 
presentation, please send your abstract before 7 November 2007 to: 
florasilvestre2008 at cibnor.mx.

Abstracts shall be evaluated by an international scientific committee, and 
approved before 15 December 2007.
