A Greeting from the Milwaukee Chapter of Audubon

Dear Friend of Wisconsin:

We are asking for a few minutes of your time.

Can you take a short moment and help fellow conservationists to spread
this message to business people, clients, lists & newsletters and friends
- really, anyone who would enjoy a gathering of the finest native plant
landscapers, natural heritage specialists and land restorationists found
in Wisconsin & the Midwest?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE,

Steve Mahler, President
Milwaukee Audubon Society

Explore how to bring a 'Sense of Our Wisconsin's Natural Legacy' into your
own backyard and discover some of the current methods for protecting
southeastern Wisconsin’s threatened natural heritage.

That's the central message of this year's Natural Landscapes Conference
hosted for the 25th year on Saturday February 12, 2005, by the Milwaukee
Audubon Society. A diversity of exceptional programs can be selected from
among four central themes:

            * Landscaping with Native Plants
            * Threatened Natural Areas of Southeastern Wisconsin
            * Threats from Invasive Species
            * Our Cultural Heritage in the Landscape.

Conference-goers will hear from wildlife & endangered resources
biologists, natural areas restorationists & ecologists, Native American &
conservation authors and even a former state archeologist.

A keynote presentation will address the sometimes - controversial idea of
"Conservation Subdivisions," a land development concept which holds both
promise and peril. Using fascinating stories of recent Wisconsin
conservation land developments, our keynote will distinguish those
wholesome features from the all-too-often deceptive and fictional claims
made by some developers.

Note the address change for this year's conference; it will be presented
at the Milwaukee Area Technical College's North Campus, located at 5555
West Highland Road, Mequon, WI., 53092. Parking is free. $25
Pre-registration before February 8th; $35 after 2/8/05 and at the door.

For the conference program of events and registration, see the attached

will be limited. Sign up early and bring a friend!
