The University of Michigan's Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols 
Arboretum invites nominations and applications for the leadership position 
of Associate Director.  The Gardens and Arboretum collectively include 
approximately 473 acres, conservatory and greenhouses, teaching facilities, 
visitor centers and specialized gardens, and two additional research 
properties near Ann Arbor: Horner's Woods and Mud Lake Bog.  Annual 
visitation is estimated to be over 200,000.  The mission of Matthaei 
Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum is to study, conserve, and 
interpret plants and ecosystems as they exist in nature and gardens, 
contribute to human enjoyment and culture, and support life on Earth.

Responsibilities in this full-time, 12-month position include assisting 
with strategic planning, providing oversight for financial operations and 
managing a staff of 35+, and oversight of facilities and operations.  The 
Associate Director reports to the Director.  Matthaei Botanical Gardens and 
Nichols Arboretum is one of the Public Goods units of the University of 
Michigan, under the Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President for 
Academic Affairs.
